A Better Way to Experience Physical Therapy: A Message from the Owners at Mindful Motion Physical Therapy
When you’re seeking help for your pain or injury, the last thing you want is to feel rushed. At Mindful Motion Physical Therapy, we believe you deserve focused, personalized attention in an unhurried and supportive atmosphere of healing. We know that’s hard to come by in today’s increasingly fast-paced healthcare system. But that’s exactly why we founded Mindful Motion Physical Therapy.
We’ve created a different kind of physical therapy clinic, one that offers a whole-body approach to your health and wellness, and encourages a meaningful client-doctor connection that leads to lasting results.
At your private, one-on-one Mindful Motion appointment, you’ll not only have a licensed doctor of physical therapy providing you individualized care and the latest treatment techniques; you’ll have a space in which you can comfortably share the story of your pain or injury and the ways it’s affecting your life. Your Mindful Motion session is your time to be heard and understood—and to begin healing.
Questions or concerns about your physical therapy needs? Wondering about costs or insurance coverage? We’re here to help. We encourage you to reach out and contact us!
Meet the Staff at Mindful Motion Physical Therapy
Jessica Dufault, DPT, Physical Therapist
I’ve been a practicing licensed physical therapist since 2006. Early in my career, I came to realize the benefits of working in a private practice clinic. Today, I love that I can give my clients the kind of attention they really need for a fulfilling and effective physical therapy session. I try to help clients feel at ease as we work together to address their pain or injury. My whole-body approach will typically include a postural assessment, various manual therapy techniques, flexibility/strength exercises to remedy possible imbalances, and instruction for exercises to do at home. I also bring specialized knowledge in physical therapy to treat women’s pelvic health issues.
Education: Doctorate of Physical Therapy, Emory University; Bachelor of Science, Kinesiology, Indiana University.
Autumn Bonner, DPT, Physical Therapist
I provide clients a range of techniques to promote healing, including manual therapy, postural assessment, exercise prescription for muscular and flexibility imbalance, pain education, and interventions specific to nerve irritation. I also have a passion for working with women’s pelvic health concerns. Before becoming a physical therapist, I was a registered yoga instructor for eight years, often working with clients suffering from injuries or chronic pain. When appropriate, I bridge my knowledge in yoga with physical therapy techniques and am pursuing certification in Professional Yoga Therapy, a designation specifically for licensed medical practitioners.
Education: Doctorate of Physical Therapy, University of Wisconsin-Madison; Bachelor of Science, Psychology, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point
Sydney Mikulas, DPT, Physical Therapist
I provide a practice that addresses the whole body to allow patients to further engage in their health through the use of postural and movement assessments, manual therapy techniques, individualized education and home exercise prescription. I have a passion for promoting better motion and decreasing pain so clients can fully participate in the lives they lead. I try to identify the root cause of an injury and address strength and weakness imbalances that lead to faulty movement patterns, injury, or chronic pain. I want to help you engage with your body’s kinetic matrix so you can live life to its fullest. I specialize in manual techniques including myofascial release, therapeutic cupping, and neuromuscular facilitation.
Education: Doctorate of Physical Therapy, University of Colorado; Bachelor of Science, Human Physiology, Gonzaga University
Janelle Burnham, DPT, Physical Therapist
In addition to providing physical therapy to the amazing community of Madison, my background includes physical therapy work in Portland (Oregon), Nashville, and Kampala, Uganda. Through these experiences, I’ve had an opportunity to work with clients of all ages and ability levels. I enjoy getting to know my clients and setting up therapy programs specific to their unique work and life demands. I’ve also been a Certified StrongWomen Instructor since 2014.

Nathan Dufault, MBA, LAT, Office Manager, Athletic Trainer
My primary role at Mindful Motion is office manager. That really means Mindful Motion clients have a patient and knowledgeable professional to rely on not only for scheduling and billing, but also for questions on insurance coverage, Flexible Spending Accounts, Health Savings Accounts, and any other concerns that come up in the sometimes confusing world of healthcare. In addition, I’ve been a certified athletic trainer since 2003. I provide athletic training services here at the clinic, as well as on an outreach basis for local high schools and sporting events.
